HOW TO FIX A BRICKED WII

Getting Started

Even though Wiis are VERY hard to brick,

its still very possible, so here are *most* of the types of bricks that your Wii can have, and how to fix them.

TYPE 1:

Semibrick

This type of brick occurs when you install a Wii Menu from a different region, or a different region Wii Menu Theme is installed. When you have this brick, you will not be able to access the Wii System Settings, but some parts may still be accessable. Instead you will get an opera web browser error.

FIXES

If this was caused by a custom theme you installed, use csm-installer linked below to get your original Wii Menu back.:

csm-installer

If this was caused by installing a custom Wii Menu WAD, use NUSGet to get your original Wii Menu back:

NUSGet

TYPE 2

Banner brick

This type of brick is caused by installing a WAD file with an invalid Wii Menu Banner or icon.

FIXES

If you're still able to access the Wii system menu, go into your WAD Manager and use a theme that works, or just install the default Wii menu theme

If you can't access the Wii Menu, use PriiLoader by holding RESET while turning on the Wii and go into the homebrew channel. Then just use the thing above.

If none of these work, you can use the BlueBomb exploit to access the Homebrew Channel

TYPE 3

Wii Menu/Opera brick

This brick is a more severe type of the Semibrick, if your SYSCONF (system configuration) file gets corrupt or damaged, the Wii will try to regenerate it.

But if your Wii has the wrong region system menu or theme installed, the Wii can't find it.

FIXES

Boot into PriiLoader and open the homebrew channel, then install another theme or the default Wii System Menu theme.
